WATCH THE MUSIC VIDEO.

TRY TO LISTEN TO THE LYRICS CAREFULLY AS YOU ARE WATCHING THE VIDEO. THE PICTURES AND WORDS WILL HELP YOU TO UNDERSTAND WHAT THE MESSAGE OF THE SONG IS.

EXPLAIN THREE DIFFERENT MESSAGES THAT YOU HEAR IN THE SONG.

DO YOU THINK THAT MUSIC IS AN EFFECTIVE WAY TO GET PEOPLE TO LISTEN TO A MESSAGE?

IF YOU COULD SHARE A MESSAGE WITH OTHERS ABOUT OUR SCHOOL WHAT WOULD IT BE?

EXPOSITIONS - LETS WORK TOGETHER

EXPOSITIONS - LETS WORK TOGETHER
Over the next few weeks we will continue to learn about writing expositions.
Everyone in Stage 3 will have to write their own exposition.
Below is a list of topics - you will need to choose one of the topics to write about.
You will all be given the opportunity to add your thoughts to any of the topics.
We are going to work together to come up with convincing arguments for all topics. Elaborating and refining the arguments will be up to individual students.
You will need to visit the Wiki when you are ready to contribute your ideas. Ensure that you place your ideas on the Wiki page that relates to each topic.
It will be interesting to see how well we work together on this project.

TELL ME A STORY

TELL ME A TALL STORY

As part of talking and listening this term Year 5 will be required to prepare and present a short story. Please read through the information below and ask questions if you are unsure of what you have to do.

* You will be working in a group of 3.

* The teachers will decide group members.

* As a group you will decide on the topic of your TALL STORY.

* One group member will tell a true story about the topic and the other two group members will invent a story about the topic – they will tell a tall tale.

* Each speaker is to be as convincing as possible.

* Each group will try to decide who is telling the ‘real’ story.

* You will prepare your story at home as part of your homework.

* You will be ready to present your story with your group on the agreed date.

* You will be asked questions at the end of story by other class members – they will be trying to work out who is telling the truth.

* You will also be asked some questions about the importance of telling the truth – THINK about your opinion before the presentation.

* Each story needs to be 1-2 minutes in length.

* As you are working as part of a group it is very important that you:

- Prepare your story well. It is expected that you will use palm cards.

- Have your story ready on the right day.
